Guys,

I bought a 2005 CTT a few months ago (loving every minute of it so far!). Before buying the truck I researched it a bit and I went after a 2005 for a couple reasons but one of them was PCM 2.1 rather than 2.0.

I never thought to actually verify whether or not build date or anything like that would make a difference. (I believe my CTT build date was 12/2004) I understood that all 2005's had PCM 2.1. Anyways, I am just trying to verify which one I have. My PCM does not have the little "phone" buttons on the top left corner but it does have a "DVD Rom" drive under the passenger seat.

Which PCM do I have??? How can I confirm it? Also, I read somewhere about a procedure to check which software I have but I lost the thread, how can I check the software version?

It sounds like you have PCM 2.1 without the "telephone prep" option.

PCM 2.0 uses CDs that are inserted into the headunit as opposed to the DVD unit under the seat.

Thanks very much for the reply. Ok, sounds good...I was totally confused

As a follow up question, I pressed eject on the DVD drive under the seat and the disc popped out for a split second and then went back in. Are we not supposed to eject this disc or am I doing something wrong??

I think only the early to mid 2005's came with the PCM2.1 without the phone option as pretty much all of the later ones I've looked at have it. The Good news is that pretty much any PCM2.1 is interchangeable as long as you get a Bose one for a Bose car or Non-Bose for a non-Bose car. Getting a new (new to your car) one coded for your car may be all that is needed when installing, Sat radio, backup camera, etc... I installed one out of a 2007 in my 2006 Turbo S and everything worked (Sat radio, CD Changer, Dash compass) except the Backup camera so I had to drive to the dealer and they charged a 1/2hr labor to code it for my Back-up camera.

I actually need to replace the LCD display itself as mine is going bad...anyone know, if the display for the 2.0 and 2.1 the same part number??
