I had a 2011 Cayenne V6. If I didn't have to drive in the city all the time I would have kept. It was just too big. I thought the Evoque was bit overstyled when I first saw it, especially the first reddish one I saw on the road. One day I parked right next to a black one in Napa, loved it. Perfect size and the car mag editors rave about it. If I didn't finally find my 08 G500 I think I might have been tempted into a silver, grey or white Evoque.

Thanks for all the help guys.
Her most likely choice is the new 2013 AWD Cadillac SRX. It has more motor, it is larger, loaded with goodies, and rides ...well like a Cadillac . The new CUE system is a plus too.
But she does like the Evoque. Hey it looks sassy in person and she liked it on test drive. I bet it does well. My concern is more after it has some miles and the fact that the dealer is across town - in this case across Houston town.

I have spent quite a bit of time looking at LR before we ordered a Cayenne diesel.
I am a very big RR fan, but was really underwhelmed at the driving.
If we had three kids then a RR or Disco is a default choice, but nothing on the Cayenne in driving.
The Evoque is much smaller, even the RR sport is smaller inside than the Cayenne.
However you will fit 4 adults in the Evoque.
Off road they are quite good, LR do the best here.
LR reliability has improved dramatically in recent years. We use a local garage to service our, thankfully soon to be gone, X5 4.4. He is very good friends with the local LR dealer in Melb, ULR. The reports are that the new cars have very few warranty issues, in fact other than a Prado [!!] he reckons they are very good buys.
Mr Tata hates warranty claims and bad press, look at how good Jaguar are now.
There is a new RR Vouge [L405]coming in September or so, around 400kg lighter than the current car [L322]
Beckham had some input on interiors, but not sure how it affected the design. If you YouTube the Evoque then you will see how it goes off road. The whole point is that most people never use the cars off road, snow, gravel roads is about it. Some Evoques are Front WD only.
They are really two different cars and don't compare directly.

Thank you blazing for a great input !
From what I see there has not yet been a lot of relability issues ( yet anyway) with the Evoque. At least one had some kind of problem and went into limp mode and the guy is raising heck and wants a new one. Good luck with that. A few had some minor problems like the rear hatch switch had to be replaced.
And a real problem of sorts is that with the heated seats and windscreen package the toll road scanners cant see or pick up the transponder when it is mounted on the windshield. We can go without the heat package if we went Evoque.
Reading around on the Net there is a bunch of snarling from a few of the Sport owners and a bit, but less overall, from the full RR owners , mostly about whether the Evoque shoud have the "Range Rover" name or the Land Rover name. Oh well ..... I mean how small can you be. This reminds me of is a Cayman a "real" Porsche, is a Cayenne a "real " Porsche stuff.
But she is going over to Porsche and test drive a Cayenne . Now lets see what I can get a Turbo S Cayenne $$$$$ for . And picked up in Germany too .
Thanks again for that input.
