Isent porsche axein' the ol' V6 for a V8. This is what I heard....a TT version is probaly comming sooner than you think. Look at all the compition to deal with nowadays........They were only able to SQUEEZE 400HP out of the GT3. This is as far as they are going to get with the V6. The GT3 had too high to compression for any boost. No way around it. A V8 is comming.

your right....you can only take a smaller capacity engine so far without it becoming unreliable and expensive.....

(still, they should keep keep the cubes down....a smaller revy highly tuned v8 is one of the best sounds you'll ever here, heard a ferrari lately??)

Dear j959,
I would love to see some photos of your project. Plus a little write up, ypou know the history of the project base, where did the engine come from. How did you fabricate the twin turbo installation. Was it a kit obtained from a supplier. That sort of thing.
If you do not have any photographs available I can get my uncle (Michael Bartlett) who lives in Sydney and is a professional photographer to drop by and take some. My third book is about highly modified Porsches and yours seems to fit the bill. I am sure you have some digital photos to share with the forum.
Ciao,
Adrian

Doesn't this hold true for engines of all displacements?

WTF?! Didn't I just reply to a message from you about the 4cyl twin turbo twin SC'd 944 engine you are dropping into your 911?!
And didn't I also see another post from you deciding whether or not to use a 3.3 engine or a 993TT engine? And now you want to drop a Twin Turbo V8 engine (that isn't even available in the car it comes in yet) into your(?) Porsche?

What year/model/engine/transmission/suspension is your Porsche?

Just curious...
Hmm?

paul fanatic....

i just like to imagine what engine setups i could do to my car....the more you think about it, the more well thought out it will be....

for the last time everyone, i will say it for the last time...the last time...

and adrian, i didn't say i had done it YET...

i have weighed up all the pros and cons for every engine configuration for the porsche (from jap engines, to 930, to 928 and 951)

i have decided to go with a lexus v8....it suits my needs...

i will tt it,
i don't see the need in throwing over 50k on an engine at my age....

this engine has a larger displacement, is stronger, cheaper than a 911 engine...it is a quad cam 32v v8, around 200kw stock (270hp)
internals are good for not far off 1000hp,

very reliable engine....a properly setup aftermarket engine management, twin turboed, alcohol injected 1uzfe will cost around 15k

a 911 turbo/tt???expect prices above 40-50k for the same reliability and performance....
and the lexus engine is lighter....

if people want me to post pics of the setup,
i will when it is finished...

i know some people here think i BS on about engines...

the engines i have discussed so far on this board have only been ideas, which is why i have posted them on this board.....

adrian, when my car is finished, i'll be happy for your uncle to take photos, and if it's unique enough (it should be, i mean a street porsche running 10s, i'll get some magazines to write some stories up for it....which i will post up....

buy the way, since my cars weighs sub 1000kgs (will weigh it when its finished), it doesn't need alot of power to get into the 10s, especially if i add a few shots of nitrous....

car is a 94 993 rolling chassis...no gearbox, no engine, no interior, no bumpers fenders, quarters...

that's why i keep discussing my options....

i can either go with a porsche transmission, or with a pure racing transmission....only 15k AU, have to get into contact with them see if the setup would even work....

if not, i guess i go with a beefed up g50

i'm also sourcing lightweight doors and hood...
going with a 993 turbo carbon fibre body kit...

best way to upgrade performance is to lose weight....
