Paint job or install PCS in used Cayenne?
Hi:
I am strongly considering buying my very first Porsche Cayenne. I have my heart set on a used model (2006 - 2009), exterior blue with interior tan color with a PCS system. I found 2 different Cayennes: one is 2008, base model in the right exterior / interior color but has no PCS. The other is 2006 Cayenne S with the PCS but has a white exterior. They both have similar miles on them, and the asking prices are within $1k of each other.
My question is: which choice would be the least expensive and the best (in terms of appearance, car performance) -- painting the white Cayenne blue (dark blue metallic or marine blue metallic), or installing a PCS into the already blue Cayenne? I hear that a bad paint job on a Porsche can be costly, but also so can a bad PCS install that messes up your electrical system.
Thanks for your help.

Repainting an entire car, over the factory finish, vs. putting in a new head unit, navigation, that's the debate? Replace the radio, end of debate.
Replacing the head unit by a reputable installer will not cause issues with your car. I've had replacements performed for these fiber optic systems, both Porsche and MB AMG's and never had problems. I've also had mObridge and Denison iPod systems added to Cayenne's PCS, with no issues ever. For a GREAT aftermarket Nav system, customized fitment, full bluetooth, ipod, i've paid $1800, well below a full repaint. You could also just get yourself a OEM PCS and install that for half that as well.
