Default Door open warning

Hi,

My Cayenne has started displaying a warning light in the dashboard that the driver's door is open whilst driving, all interior lights also come on.... The door is obviously closed at the time...

Just wondering whether this is a door sensor problem, and if so how much to replace and is it a possible DIY or is it likely to be the battery on it's way out as I have noticed the Parking sensors flashing intermittently sometimes....

TIA....

Cayennes do tend to exhibit strange electrical system symptoms when the battery is failing. How long has it been since your battery was changed?

The door open warning sounds like something else to me. I've not heard of that issue before with Cayennes, so I don't think it's too common.

switch in door latch gone bad?

Mine has the opposite problem, never knows that the door is open. I plan to swap the latch/switch.

This is puzzling.

I can see the switch stuck, showing the door still closed while open. I'd guess showing open when closed is probably a bad switch. Now just guess which door. Good luck.

Don't pick on the Limey. We've never won a war without their help.

I guess if you include being the enemy as help, that's sorta true almost..

Meh, that was only 2 or 3 times. (This was really a play on a joke from a couple of weeks ago on Top Gear.)

Where is Dax? I hope he/she knows we are just joking. I'd like an update on that switch.

Who actually wins a war? Or is that too philosophical??

Don't the Yanks usually show up late, bring their great industrial might, and clean up the beaten up and down trodden? ( comment for maximum response and lots of flaming )

Philosophy is good

WWII

The Germans and Japanese won it.
The Italians lost it.
The French didn't take part.
The Brits kept sovereignty of their Island.
...and the Yanks paid for it!
