ebay roof rails
has anyone purchased or used the "oem style" roof rails from ebay? hows the fit and finish compared to factory?

The fit and finish is right on par with the fuzzy dice and chinese Rolexes they sell.

I'm with the OP - curious as to how much of a difference OEM would really make on something like rails. I assume s/he meants the long sloping ones running the length of the car. Now if it turns out they're aluminum-looking plastic, then I'm with MedTech.

Any recent experience with the 955/957 roof rails which sell for $130 on ebay?

Asian "copies" of the roof rails is just that..... replicas that has the look only. A buddy bolted crossbars and a Thule pod and after 3 months the rails were cracking at stress points. Looks only, gents!

Hardware is decent. They don’t fit. Too short at rear by over 1/4 inch. Rear will not fit flush to roof so weatherstrip has visible gap. I will be paying for new clearcoat on the OEM rails. Good news is the rails are a 10 minute job to remove/replace. |
I purchased them 4 years and so far so good. I mostly bought it for looks and light loads but I wouldn't trust anything serious.

Can anyone offer feedback on "ebay" crossbars for 955 flush roof tracks. I think Porsche called it the Roof Transport System.
