Drove vehicle out of town . Parked and came back 20 minutes later. Sat in car 5 minutes with phone plugged in center console cig lighter with key out of ignition (doors closed) went to turn car back on and won't turn on. No lights on dash. No lights inside car. Outside lights work and rear hatch and locking system.
Odd fact, lock and unlock car, open door and overhead lights come on for 1 second and turn off instantly. No "cayenne" in the dash or anything that would normally show.
Porsche closed till Monday, trying to figure something out before then as I am stuck.
Yeah, iPhone saved my butt a while back too. Put my key fob in and somehow removed key while key fob lock activated. Basically cayenne thought key was already inserted. Stuck in loading zone but quick search on iPhone resulted in a finding a thread on the exact same problem and solution. Hope you're on the road soon.
Strange that the original problem showed up 6 months ago with a supposed software fix yet here you are with a new 2012 getting the same experience. Makes me a little nervous for my 2012, especially as I get ready to head off into the mountains.
Was it a fairly simple To find under the seat and fix? Any special tools required?
Flap is not under drivers seat it's right in front of it. I ripped the flap under seat out cause I couldn't see anything besides a filter and then I noticed the other flap. In the pic above I have the wire disconnected. Usually it's 13mm acorn attaching it to the chassis.
Temporarily unplugging a power source is the norm today for everything including cellphones, cameras, computers and now automobiles. It's the 21st century's CTRL-ALT-DEL solution...
