Wow i would never trade my X5 4.8is for a Cayenne. I'm in the same boat as you CTT & X5, but i love driving both of them, each have their own pluses and minus.

The 4.8is's "direct" replacement would be the GTS. Still searching for either GTS or CTT...Originally Posted by Brit6

It defeats the purpose of being a German car company.

thats ridiculous..same model and everything? You would just end up driving the one you liked better more. Why not make the one you have the best it can be. INSTEAD of wasting that money on another one.
As far a the fastest on a track, I did the Porsche driving experience in Birmingham two years ago and the instructors said the Cayenne Turbo was the fastest around the track of the Cayennes. Sport mode, PSM off, and the air suspension to the first lowered position. They took me for a ride and I was amazed. Never driven my CTTS like they did. I did the Precision Driving course (1 day), wished I could have afforded the two day but couldn't justify it. Better than any track experience I've had up to this point and worth the money, they treat you very well for the price you pay.

And the distinct drawback you're highlighting of a german designed car built outside of germany is what exactly.....?

It feels more authentic when it says Assembled in Germany on that side sticker in the driver's door.Originally Posted by GTS 6 spd

If the sticker was bigger it could say, "Body built in Slovakia, transmission built in Japan, engine built in Stuttgart, and everything Assembled together in Germany."

Did I miss a memo on GTS handling being better different than the others? Compared to Turbo even?? That's the only thing that's confused me in this thread.
The short answer for you Arnee is to obviously upgrade for real and get a CTT-S!!

I think you must have done! Read any GTS review and the first that's usually mentioned is the improved handling. Owning both a CTT and a GTS i don't need to read the reviews, the 'turbo' handles lke a boat in comparison. The 2008-2010 model CTT has better handling but still not up to the standard of the GTS.Originally Posted by seankrider

I looked at trading my GTS against a 2010 CTT but decided not to as I couldn't bear to give away that handling, the power was awesome however.
I think the most frequent question GTS owners ask themselves is "why didn't they put a turbo in this?" That question may be answered by buying a 2011-12 CTT.

Wow - learn something new every day. Now I want to drive one to feel the difference. Then figure out how to retro it into a CTT...
