Default Coolant pipes, does it happen more in warmer states?

Hi,

Just purchased my 2nd Porsche. Are you guys finding that the coolant pipes crack or fail in warmer climate states more than colder climate states?

I know it happens out here in the mountains, but I don't know how much it does relative to warmer states.

Its all to do with temperature cycling of the pipe so I would argue its start and stop cycles rather that climate

OK, so I think that pretty much covers all the bases, except perhaps the influence of lunar gravity on coolant tube cracking...

In the end, it's a matter of when, not why.

IIRC there was a Porsche tech on here in So. Fla. (Firehawk ?) who reported seeing quite a few more of them at a much earlier age (mileage) than most others were. I would tend to believe the higher temp plays a part but also the heat cycling has an effect too.

Sooooo.... frequent short trips in hot climate is a recipe for failure...
