Default 2008 Porsche Cayenne Changing transmisson Fluid

So is changing the transmission fluid on this thing as delicate as Porsche makes it out to be? I am consider changing my own tranny fluid. Thoughts?

i think getting the refill to the proper level is an issue without the computer.

Did mine 04, saved a boat load of money. Yes you need to measure the fill at 40 deg. cent with engine running. Not a hard job. Time consumming. I use Durametric software, it has save me a fortune in Porsche repairs.

It is nice to have when you need it! Paid for itself a couple of times already.

I did my '04 myself too. Not hard. A bit messy though. I used Durametric to check the temp >40 degrees per the instructions. Replace the filter while you're at it. ~$40 for the filter, $80 for the gasket, and then 9-10 quarts of oil ($7-10/quart). I used Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF.

Thanks for the info on Durametric. I'll be making that purchase in the near future.
