A/C Noise
It has been pretty hot and humid lately and my a/c has been making a lot of rumbling noises (esp. coming from under the right foot well area). It sounds like a coffee machine perculating most of the time and it stops completely when I turn the fan off!

It could also be caused by low A/C refrigerant charge. I had an intermittent hissing and rumbling/churning sound and it was due to low refrigerant (it sounded a bit like a garbage disposal)
Does the sound change with fan speed of the blower? If not and it's just as loud with 1 bar of fan then I bet it's the 'freon' charge that's low.

Replacing the blower motor
It's quick to change out. The image attached is my old one that had developed the chirping noise. Once you access the footwell area on the passenger side there are 7 small bolts holding the motor in. The most annoying part of putting in the new one is ensuring the 'grove' around the motor is properly engaged with the housing. May require a bit of tweaking to line it up. Once it is lined up it's obvious that it is because all the housing bolt holes will line up perfectly.
Picture of the old motor attached for reference.

I had the chirping thing going on and off, then more of a high pitch noise, became more frequent as time went on. Very annoying.
The picture of the blower was very useful, to ensure I was purchasing the right part. BTW, the price has gone up since you guys replaced yours. I paid $190 through Amazon, and received it next day -- (Prime Membership is really great). Checked out prices on the web, and many were at $200+.
Took me more than an hour to do, I know you guys get it done really fast -- like 20 minutes. The two main challenges I faced was working around the wiring harness that blocks a couple of the screws, and positioning the unit properly in the groove.
Just completed the job, drove it around the block, and all is great.
One other thing: Don't know if this is related to the blower motor, but a few times, I've been driving along, minding my own business, and there's this thumping noise, somewhere under the dash, almost like bongo drums, or a rodent running around. Doesn't smell, so it's not a rodent, and only happened a few times. Any ideas?
Thinking of replacing my 2004 Turbo with a 2012 S.
