Ours won't work for that application. I altered the running clearances and do not use Porsche journal diameters. We have intended to only utilize these in our engines, not selling any parts.

The dealer can get you the right bearings.. But they are only available in standard sizing.

Standard sizing meaning one size? Or the three colour ranges red yellow and blue corresponding to minutely different sizes?

One size.. No under or over sizes available for machining. Again, graded bearings supersede to ONE part number.

If you measure their installed running clearances you'd find that all the grades are the same.

Sounds like you are getting there.

Question for Flat6 Innovations:

Have you used piston oil squirters from 2007 M48.01/51 motors as an update to the 4.5L block? I thought I heard somewhere this is a viable update. Wondering if anyone has any experience actually doing this and if the parts 'bolt' in?

Thought I read it in the workshop manual as an update during a rebuild.

Curious of your thoughts anyway.

Thanks!

If you have an 04-06 s then you can just use the 04 to 06 squirters and just bolt them in. They are calibrated to open at a specific pressure so that your main and rod bearings get pressure first at start up. The 4.8 has a different oiling system and clearances.

Couldn't find the 04-06 squirters in PET - are they a turbo part? Do you have partnumbers by chance?

Yea, the 4.5 Turbos have the oil squirters, not sure if they're available separately but I'm sure Flat6 would know.

We fit squirters to all our engines. The TT units will fit the S engines, sometimes a bit of massaging is necessary, but that's all.

BTW, you can get valve guides from CHE. They should already have a cad file from the set I had made. They arent cheap but they are killer.
