Default Cayenne and PDK

is it safe to assume we will not see PDK in a cayenne until the new body transformation? also is their an updated ETA for this new transformation?

i have always liked the cayenne as it is, but i feel PDK is really needed instead of TIP in the SUV... the renditions of the "new" cayenne however make me quiver and want to hide in a hole because they look like a tiny lexus RX....

hoping we might see PDK in the current chassis????

The next Cayenne in 2011 will be larger than the present one but lighter since it will use elements of the Panamera along with deletion of some of the heavy off-road protection plates. It will have PDK since it shares the powertrain of the Panamera. There are a lot of articles confirming this stuff on the net already.

Regards,

Regards,
the only articles ive seen were with pictures of a tiny SUV that looked like lexus RX.. can you link to said articles showing the new "larger" cayenne? i was really upset seeing the pictures i saw because it looks small, like the GLK or something... the current cayenne i think looks very aggressive and sexy... would love it with PDK

The reason I have heard no PDK in the Cayenne is the towing issue. On the flip side I have heard that next year they will have an 8 speed tip for the Cayenne.

It was posted earlier this year that dealers were told at a Porsche dealers meeting that the new Cayenne would show up in the April-May 2010 timeframe with no PDK due to towing problems. It certainly looks smaller from the spy pics with an interior similar to Panamera design.

It is my understanding that the PDK is designed for performance and efficiency and is not designed ot handle the stress associated with a tow vehicle AND the Cayenne is a great tow vehicle. As much as I never liked tiptronic in a sports car I am happy with the 6 speed tip in our Cayenne and an 8 speed would be even better.

I have a 2009 C2s with PDK and a 09 Cayenne Tip...The tip works perfectly for the Cayenne. I just do not see why anyone would need rev matched downshifts for a Cayenne. I guess it would be somewhat cool.

i like how the PDK thinks ahead and almost knows what you are doing without being told.. the TIP never was on the same page as myself while driving.. i found myself always fighting what it wanted to do versus what i wanted it to do.

my $.02 The 09 Tip upshifts quicker but when manually downshifting, there is still a delay. The first click puts it in manual and then the next down click shifts. PDK spoils me!
