Nav, Radio, PCM don't work!
I keep getting a message that says "system error, nav, radio, amplifier unavailable" on my '05 cayenne s. When I crossed the 50k marker on my car I started to get this error sporadicaly, maybe once a month. I lived with it but now I am at 57000 miles and the radio and nav never work, at all. I constantly get this message. Is there any potential fix to this? A software update or anything else, dealer is telling me that non of this is covered by my extended warranty, figures that this convienantly happened after the moment I crossed 50k. LOL!!, what crooks. I noticed other threads with similar issues sounds like there should be a recall.

This could be a number of things. Basically its telling you that it cant find its bud's on the MOST network. I would guess its a fiber connection on the system or a bent fiber. Have you done or had any work done on the the car. Take the car in and have them diagnose it using PIWIS.

No, no work done at all. This sucks because they are telling me $150 an hour to diagnose. Who knows how long it will take them to find it.
When I was under full warranty at around 25k miles some weird noise was coming from my engine. Took them a week to look at it and then they decided I needed a new engine. I had a rental for 3 months waiting for this engine, total bs.
On top of that the car almost killed me three times after i got the new engine. It would simply shut off while I was driving, twice it happened in the middle of busy intersections and once when I was on the freeway. Everytime it happened I took the car in for service, they would tell me it was fixed and it would happen again. Finally I think they may have fixed it as it has not happened in a while. Anyhow I complained to PCNA and they gave me the certified preowned warranty to 100k, but no radio, nav or pcm issues are covered. Not cool...

Any chance this is a fuse issue? Where is the amplifier located?
It seems there are many people with this same issue that have the 05 cayenne and it all seems to be happining to everyone at once, very weird...

The amplifier is located in the rear passenger side of the cargo compartment with the CDChanger. You can get a glimpse of it thru an access panel and usually have to remove the interior trim to get full access....Mudman2 has posted detailed info in this previously.
How could that possibly happen?

Ok, as it's almost Halloween and spooky things are happening....
This happened to me last Saturday. Switched on the car and CD/Radio/Amp/Nav all unavailable. Switched off/on several times. Locked the car/unlocked the car. Wiggled some cables. Removed the NAV DVD. Still same 'System Error' message.
Stopped for gas and it all came back to life when I started the engine again.
So there you go. Go and fill it up with Shell V-Power and it will be cured.

What can I do? I am being strong armed into service, and had to endure misery with my car throughout its life. I bought my dream car and didn't sign up to be their guinea pig. I think I want my money back...

See my thread with the same issues on my 05 CS. I isolated the problem in the amp. Educate yourself on the MOST system here on this forum by following the posts about similar problems. My dealer did not charge me for PIWIS analysis but they didn't find the problem either. It takes some time and patience on your part to find out where your "ghost" is! Good luck!
