Default Cayenne/Panamera to be axed?

Report that VAG sees no future for Panamera and Cayenne. See REPORT HERE.

Excerpt:

"... "VW Group has plenty of SUVs and saloons [sedans] -- it doesn't need Porsche to build them," says the story, which should be music to the ears of Porsche faithful and critics who insist the tiny sports-carmaker did potentially irreparable harm to its brand by pasting the Porsche badge onto heavyweight off-roaders and sedans. ..."

Looks like it is many years away. It would be nice to have a collectors car.

I guess we'll see what we shall see. I just read another article a couple of days ago that said Porsche would be adding several additional models under the VW leadership.

This could be a trial balloon. It's odd (or even stupid) to announce such plans right at the Panamera launch.

Don't count on the end of the Cayenne. When they look at the books and realize that over 50% of all sales are Cayenne's they won't want to go without that revenue.

What revenue?
Cayenne or Touareg?
What's the difference?

Yes, note that there's not a single authoritative source quoted in that article in the British mag. Meanwhile, the CEO of VAG is publicly stating his goal is to DOUBLE Porsche sales within the next four years: http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1...ext-four-years

They sure won't double sales by cutting the Cayenne! It sounds like they may add a Porsche version of the Audi Q5, however.

Perhaps my VDUB with Two Turbos and a diesel may see a value up-tick?

Where's that Cayenne collectable that Rome posted?? Could be a serious rush for the `07's as their value will go through the roof!!

If that's a sample of VW Group decision making someone needs to move elsewhere.
