SURFS UP!

Surf is up and I am trying to find the best surfboard transport system that makes use of the existing Cayenne Roof Rails(not racks). Any suggestions?

Both Thule and Yakima make good ones. Word on the street is that the Yakima Control Towers have a tigher and more secure fit for heavier loads. However, the new Thule aerodynamic roof bar system looks really nice; and the more secure fit is probably not a big deal with a surf board as compared to a 60 lb cargo box loaded with 110 lbs of content.

you can use the oem crossbar that attached to the existing rail..

then buy the sufboard carrier...

the OEM pieces should run you about 400 bucks just put some pads on them and some bungies

Agree with all said with the exception of using the OEM surfboard carrier or rubber bungy straps, which stretch - not good and grow brittle. Instead use purpose-made nylon surfboard straps sold at all surfshops.

One note for those that have the Cross bars. They are so wide that the only pads that I have found will work are the DaKine XLpads, which were designed for the Hummer H2 racks.
