I will admit, I have always loved these. The question I have is, what happens when it rains. I know that water gets into the engine from the bottom, but how bad is it for the engine to get drenched for an extended period of time. On the flip side, the engine must get some cooling impact from these.

Your engine getting wet from these vents actually won't hurt the motor at all. Things like that are tested by Techart long before they release items to the public. The only downside I can see is that you may need to clean your engine bay from time to time as it will get more dirt in it.
