86k on my 2006 now. At this point it's mine till the wheels fall off. Hopefully that will be at least 250k.

I've replaced:
-The Radio
-Coils
-Coolant pipes
-Rear hatch struts (twice)
-Front hood strut
-Parking brake strut
-Gasket around the headlights (twice)
-Need to rebuild the air compressor

Cool T2 and congrats. I've got 57K on my '06TTS but it isn't a daily driver, maybe one day a week and one day on the weekends. I have an older Audi tt which is my daily driver, cheaper on gas but still AWD for inclement weather. It is the 225bhp 1.8t version chipped with a highflow downpipe and exhaust so somewhere about 250bhp I would say but the Cayenne is still a little quicker

MarkDJr and HanhMGH63,

Thanks and congrats on enjoying your Cayenne as well. Ironically I do not drive the Cayenne that often - mainly on weekends - my wife and kids get to enjoy it. I am lucky to drive my dream car a 2003 996 Turbo with 325,000+ miles on the ticker!!

That's phenominal milegage, wow.

Is there an IMS on the turbo of this year since it's based on the earlier crankcase?

I'm pretty sure the turbos don't have IMS issues, but I don't really go to that forum.

My friend traded in a 04 CTT with 105,000 on it 2 moths ago. It ran like a top with issues(even had the original coolent pipes) the turbos held up fine too. Some one bought it from the Porsche dealership and it's still running I assume. My 05 CTT has 57k.

Hey all,

No IMS failure on my 996 Turbo. I have replaced the cardan shaft twice though. Oil changes every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 0W-40 - religiously.

Did I really read 550,000+ miles combined on two 03/04 Turbos...

T2 - you give all of us '04CTT owners hope. What's your secret? Religious service cycles? You own turbos, but I've gotta ask - do you ever, uh, accelerate?

I thought I was driving it a lot as a DD, but I have a mere 53% of your mileage...

The 996 Turbos are based off the old 964/993 Block but watercooling jackets added in casting so they don't have the IMS failures. That is an unbelievable mileage. Very impressive. I had a '01 996 Turbo and have been thinking about getting another one, probably the '03 (slight facelift over the '01 but essentially the same car) as I have missed it but I have too many cars now.

Seankrider,

Accelerate.....ummmm.....yes......very much so. My car is tracked - the Cayenne is not. They are driven pretty hard but not beaten on. We enjoy both vehicles.

Oil changes in my car every 5000 miles religiously - Mobil 1 0W-40, oil changes in the Cayenne every 10,000-15,000 miles and serviced when needed. Part of the daily commute (warm up and cool down) for both vehicles is a 10-15 minute section of highway that is heavily patrolled and ticketed for speeds greater than 60MPH - I have to beleive that has helped both vehicles. That and they are driven daily and never sit for too long.

Secrets - none really - enjoy it, drive it and service it not necessarily in that order.

T2 - continues to knock on wood!!
