Default Back in a GTS.......... well, sort of

Next week I'm going to get the windows tinted and have the black Techart Formula GTSs mounted.

Won't be driving this GTS or the frog to SITM though (frog is getting prepped for Parade), I'll be driving another hot rod sports car......

[edit] Sorry guys, the original post ended up on the Cayenne forum too and it was not intended to go over there, I posted something seperately on that forum. Don't know how it happened but when the mod deleted the double post on the Cayenne forum it deleted my post on the 928 list too?

Probably for the same reason most 928s came with an automatic. It's going to be my wife's daily driver and a manual just wasn't in the cards. The manual trans Cayenne GTSs are slower selling than the tips. Probably just like the 928 was (at least the 928 GTS). In the future I'm sure the 2nd/3rd owners are going to be searching for the manual trans Cayennes' but they just aren't that appealing right now. We were also looking at M5s', the manual trans cars are selling really cheap compared to the SMG cars. ......probably just like the 928?

Nice Chuck, Congrats to your wife!

Still do hope you pick up another GTS in the future when the time is right.

Chuck
I also think the pepper GTS is VERY good looking, especially for an SUV....the local dealer had one a while back and its stunning in person....the interior build quality is also VERY good....

But how does it DRIVE...compared to a 928 GTS?

Sorry for this thread guys! An overly ambitious moderator on the 928 forum thinks it belongs here. Since I have qutie a few friends over there I thought it would be a fun discussion since most know me as a "928" guy. I'm quite sure me being "back in a GTS" means absolutely nothing to you guys. Thanks for nothing Randy!

The issue for me is after I load up an S or GTS with most of the options I get very very close to the price of a Turbo???

Honestly we thought the same thing however, if you load up a CTT with similar options (pano and PDCC, 21" wheels) you quickly pull away from the price of a loaded GTS. Our GTS had an MSRP of $91k and a similarly equipped CTT would have an MSRP of ~$114, not sure $23k diff is very close...... Now, if you compare a base CTT to a loaded S or GTS you're right but, I wouldn't even have considered a base model CTT.

Chuck, that's a very nice looking pepper. I like it. But I think I said that before.

I just took mine on a 400 mile trip. Simply awesome. The power is plentiful on the open highway and awesome on the curves. I even went on some fire-trails. Raised it up and soften the suspension - its simply perfect!

I did not have the option for the GTS but when I loaded up the S with all of the options that I wanted on the turbo I was within 10 grand. The turbo also has some things you can't get on the S.
That being said; I did not really need the extra 100 horsepower and perhaps if the GTS were available now I would go that way. Very nice looking car.

they smartly priced those 21 inch wheels to sway exactly this kind of decision imo. boost those new model sales!

great pic's there!
