Default Totaled Cayenne S

Well it looks like my 2004 Cayenne S is history. It has 62K miles and has been a great tow vehicle. 03/18/2008 I was turning with a green arrow and out of the blue a Honda Civic (thank goodness it was not another Cayenne or SUV) completely ran their red light and nailed my right front. My body guy says the driver was doing every bit of 60mph in a 45. On her cell phone and her light had been red at least for ONE MINUTE! My wife was in the passenger seat and daughter in the rear. Air bags deployed. Everyone likely OK but we will see. Frame bent significantly, but this is one awesome car in an accident scenario. Before and after pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Glad to hear the Cayenne kept your family safe. From the pictures, I think we met at VIR last weekend (Alex?). We were talking about your Trailex.

Sorry about the Cayenne, hope the insurance will total it so you have less problem to deal with down the road. More importantly, hope everyone is OK especially if your daughter is very young, pay special attention to her movement as younger kids may not know how to complain a sore neck or something. It definitely looks like a very hard hit!

Good thing they are build to so high safety standards.

To bad for the cayenne though I doesn't really look that bad, I've see other SUV's hit and they are totally totaled.

It sounds like a lawsuit to me. You just can't be yaking on a cell phone and blowing through a red light at 60 mph. Lucky no one was killed, or badly hurt.

Glad you & the family are fine. Sadly, it appears our national passtime IS talking & driving at the same time. If you add the inexperience of a younger driver it only increases the potential risk. My wife had a similar issue with a teenager running into her car while on the phone; & running a red light. I for one am looking forward to hands-free or other requirements nationwide.

Yes we did meet. You are going to Germany to pick up your Cayenne right? I actually drove a 2008 Cayenne S with options similar to mine for two hours yesterday. The 08 is sweet and I think the 09 will be out in July. I will wait for the call from the insurer and see, but I am thinking I will get another one yes! Maybe used 06 who knows.

Honda was a total and the girl born 1974 taken to hospital by ambulance. She is out but badly bruised I hear. It was an accident and no ill will really. But surely it could have been really bad had she hit the passenger door where my wife was in the front and my 20 YO daughter on the right rear. I shudder to think about it.

+1 to that.

Did the doors on the passenger side jam up at all?
