Default Blower Motor Update

Finally had it replaced. 237 for the part and 192 labor for a total 429. Actually less that the estimate by 140. They said a wiring harness needed to be moved prior to the blower motor replacement which added an unknown labor estimate based on the wiring harness being in different locations in different vehicles. CS has 84.5K.

PS I did confirm that blend door actuator (I think thats what it was called) is alot more labor. Hope that never goes.

Merry Xmas all!

Mine goes in for the blend air door actuator on January 2nd. The parts are at the dealer now. I've got a loaner car booked for two days.

In my case, the symptoms sound like a moose mating call when the car warms up.

Maybe your Cayenne is lonely?

Mud, Symtoms were squealing and squeaking from the dash when the fan was on. You could hear it inside and outside with or without engine on. Bumps and turns would start , stop, or change the noise . I heard it a few times and then it went away and about a month later it came back and we would hear it everyday. I guess its just the bushing or bearings in the motor!

Blend air door actuator replaced today under warranty. Problem seemingly solved. No more "lonely moose".

Believe me, I am glad this was done under warranty.

I had a loaner car lined up for today's service call. The original plan was to give me a 911 for a loaner - sweet! Based on today's 4 inches of fresh snow and high temperature of 13 degrees, we both agreed that the 911 wasn't the best choice. Oh well - maybe next time. I took the shuttle home.

Originally scheduled for 2 days. I dropped it off first thing this morning and they had it finished by 4:30.

Maybe they've learned how to efficiently do it after a few tries.. mudman2 will attest that they grimaced when they knew how much tearing apart of the dash they'd do to get to it.. hopefully you're "cured".

Took the Cayenne out for the first time today - and the moose in heat is back. My problem is not fixed. Maybe that's why it only took a day!

Scheduling round two.

I have had mine in twice for the same thing. As recently as a few weeks ago. Just started hearing it again. Not a moose in heat, but an annoying clicking noise. I really think this is a badly designed or built part that probably outsourced to VW to make or something.

This has been the only real problem I have had with my 04 S after 2 years and lots of miles. I had to throw that in for all of the bashing I have heard on these beasts.

Mine has actually been quite good too. This problem is really more of an annoying sound than anything else - the system works properly. My goal is to get it fixed while still under warranty.
