Going Nekkid on 06 V6
I'm about 6000 miles away from the 50k nekkid state on my Cayenne. The car has been flawless so far, but I'm going to take it in prior to the point of no return for an oil service. Is there anything specifically I should have them look at before entering into the twilight zone?
I expect my monthly mileage to drop a lot next year when I acquire a Smart ForTwo for my commuting.

Good choice on the Smart.....nice little cars.
Before going 'naked', I would ask for a complete PIWIS readout for all logged error codes, ask to verify that all TSB's/updates have been performed, get a thorough undercar inspection for any/all fluid leaks and/or weeps and finally......find God.
Good luck, going boldly where few men dare venture.

You have to be "Crazy" to buy one of those "Smarts", imagine one of those Cayenne's (or anything else like a Ford Expedition!) out of warranty, going beserk and careening into you. Your trajectory should break all home run distance records.
Penny wise and pound foolish (imo) if you value your life. They serve a purpose in Europe for driving in Cities with very narrow streets..but not in the US.

I'm guilty!
But, I was trying to make a point: The "Smart" car in the US is like a duck out of water. It is a European solution for a European problem (narrow, low speed streets). I wonder if bringing it here helps MB meet some fuel standard restrictions.

Thanks for the advice
Since I live in the Bay area (SF) tiny streets do apply. I've driven the Smarts in Austria and here and they're not so bad around town; even occasionally on the road. Now trips to Tahoe will definitely be in the Pepper.

Or how about my Ford 350 Diesel - notice it is the same "color group" as the Cayenne was?
I can tow my trailers with better gas mileage then with the Cayenne - and it is great when the missess needs to go to the Nusery (I hated all the dirt in the back of our SUV)...
Who is Scott? The guy who orignally ordered this Truck and never came to pick it up - got me an extra good deal - Scott - if you are out there thanks!!!!

Nice looking Cowboy Cadillac. F350HD PSD....now that could tow a Cayenne AND the enclosed trailer containing the Cayenne.....and still be at about 60% capacity.
God how I love those trucks.
Interesting how Ford managed to leave out "!"

I only wish PCNA was still monitoring this forum (I think they stopped when Larry died.....or did they? )
