Stupid question....
what is the difference between a Cayenne S and the titanium version.
I am looking to buy one to tow my Cayman S to the track, and need to know if it makes any difference to go with the titanium or not.
Also, I read somewhere there are were no 07 built, what's up with that?
Thanks for your understanding and advice.....

The Titanium edition has an attractively priced package of options; attractive if those options are important to you. Review those options and see if they are what you would have spec'ed a Cayenne with anyway. It's just a number crunching problem; work it out. For towing, I think you need PASM, and of course, a factory installed tow package.
There are no '07's because Porsche is introducing the '08 (facelifted) Cayenne in early '07; probably February or March. If you can wait until then, it might be worth while to see how the new drivetrain changes pan out.

For towing, No, it's not absolutely necessary, but it does help a bit, depending on your trailer/vehicle combination.
For daily driver and 20" wheels, it will help 'soften' up the ride a bit (due to reduced sidewall profile height), but again, not absolutely necessary.

I would guess 15% off MSRP would be a good start, what do you think?
BTW, have you checked your PM lately?

If I were in the market for a new Cayenne S right now - I would wait a few months for the new model coming out.
My late, late 2004 model Cayenne S has everything (and then some) a "Tit.S" has (minus the painted rims) and the options added up were no cheaper.
The only deal I have ever got from Porsche was the free "X-51 engine package" (or 17k) of my Club Coupe as "configured"...

And BTW, the initial shipment of facelifts (Phyllis Diller Cayennes) will be PCNA configured 'fleet' or 'launch' vehicles (standard set of options, colors, etc). Not sure any dealers can even place a customer configured facelift Cayenne order yet.....

I need it to tow my cayman s on an open aluminum trailer.
I guess for the 5k extra I can get a new model year....
Opinions?
