Lets play, "what will it cost" and "What will dealer say!"
So, going in for early 40k service. (driving down to Florida and back). Just thought I would share the before and afters of the event. Below is the work list and the notes associated with the list. While the car was supposedly CPO'ed, I don't think they did anything but wash it. Any guesses!
The dealer list:
1) 40k service -- $$$
2) Check vibrating wheel/alignment -
3) Fix rear window washer - Warranty!
4) Activate compass function - Like the option and kills me that side of the display is always empty. - Think I might get for free... Ha, free, thats rich
5) Install mud flaps (bought from Sunset!) - I would do this, but this living in the city thing is making DIY difficult. - I need a garage.
Notes on service
1) Car burning oil at rate above recommended oil burn level. No visible (on the ground) oil leak.
2) Car seems to run hot, with coolant temp gauge bouncing all over the place. (smell coolant occasionally) (no lights, which is rare in Cayenne)
3) Transmission still notchy/clunks between 1/2 - (second time)
Other notes:
Have installed cat replacement and exhaust system since last visit. Lets see what they say. Note that I cleared the install with dealer prior to install...

wah! did I read this correctly.. #4 $800 to activate compass
I thought they just hook up the computer and everything becomes activated in less than 5 minutes..... am I missing something here
Are there additional parts required?

It depends on the model year, a new sensor is required to be run through to the back of the car, labor rates vary. FireHawk .. this usually means stripping out the interior right ?

Yep, got 8 new ones, under warranty. Navigation needs a $250 harness/wire. The off road PCM function ( i also asked) is $350, plus $7 for the manual....
