What would you do...
Hey all, long time PCar owner, but first time potential Cayenne buyer. I have found a Cayenne S virtually loaded with Nav, Xenons, Air Suspension, PSM, 19" wheels and the off-road package. The only problem is the Carfax indicates a previous accident with frame damage.
The frame was repaired by a reputable shop and the car seems to drive very well, but I am concerned about how this might effect it's resale value.
Question:
With sales for the Cayenne softening, considering that we are going into the holiday season, what do you all think this car should sell for without the history?
What do you think the history does to the market value?
Love to hear your thoughts!

If you are looking at this Cayenne for a long term vehicle - go find one with zero damage.
If you will only have this car for a year or two then "give it a try" but remember, it's always harder to re-sell a flawed item when there are others out there without any...
Go used but without the damage - 2004 or newer and you'll be happy. Cayenne S with all the options and life is great!

Not a chance you would catch me buying that heap. Think about how difficult it would be to sell should you not like it after a period of time. SUre, no problem selling it, but after you let the new buyer the same thing you have just been informed (frame damage) just be prepared for VERY low offers. Move on.

You guys are great for taking the time to respond. I appreciate your candid opinions. I think we are all in agreement of the risks here and the lower resale. Anyone willing to comment on how much this damage would reduce the market value to a comparable car?

MadFox, thanks again for the comments. I am in no way the previous owner of this car. I found it at a local dealership in Minnesota. The car is a 2004 with about 38,000 miles and was originally owned on the east coast. At a point, if this discount is right, a person might look past the mark on carfax provided the repair was done professionally. Everyone has their price, I am just trying to determine what that is.

Don't get emotional about the purchase. This will end badly.
Where in Minn. is the car? At a Porsche dealer?
The option here may be to purchase it and resell the car to Russian dealers for a profit.... :hmm:

Somewhat similar to the title of the thread....WWJD?
I'd think he'd say pass on it. It will cause untold grief on resale....Espescially if you find something better with the year...
