How long for computer to message oil change?

How long on a V6 for the computer to tell me to change oil.Does it work on mileage or delta P or what? Been around 10k kilometers and would like to do it. Also, if I do an oil change at stealership does the tech reset the program for it doesnt go off early?

mine went off at 10.5K miles

both times went off at 15,000 & then again at 30,000 miles

On my CT the first time was 24 months from the manufactures build date ( when the computer was set at the factory) the milage was at 16,,000. So I had the 20,000 mile service done oil/brake fuild and inspection.
