Yep, put the -09's in my P!g when I did the coolant tubes a couple weeks ago. Also replaced the spark plugs at the same time. Seem to recall $38 and change from Hennessy in Atlanta.

FWIW just inspected coils and all mine are brand new as of 2006, and are in pristine shape. You could lick them. Crazy good shape. Idle still sucks *****. Just ordered new plugs on Sat from German Autos for $75 shipped and will install this week. Hopefully they arrive in time. Stay tuned. My new June '11 installed battery has also gone bad. Replacing under warranty as soon as it arrives.

They don't have to be visibly cracked to be bad.

There was no dirt, dust, fingerprints, or even a stray micron of breath on these.......much less a crack of any kind whatsoever. I have no codes. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Just a crappy idle.

I think if you read through the many pages on this issue you'll find that the lack of codes thrown is not the least bit unusual.

Bill did you go with genuine Porsche coils or the Beru coils. I've not found the Porsche 09 coil for less than 450$ for the set of 8.

I went ahead and ordered them from Auto Atlanta for 453$ delivered.

(8) .09 coils were $310.56 from Hennessy Porsche (dealership) in Atlanta apx 3 weeks ago. Much the same deal as Sunset and Sunrise Porsche.

They came from a Porsche dealer and Porsche dealers only sell OE (Porsche) parts.

OE = Original Equipment (Porsche labeled parts)
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer (such as Bosch which makes parts for Porsche but the parts would come in a Bosch box).

AutohausAZ and other parts distributors only sell OEM (and other aftermarket) parts
Pelican Parts (and a few others) sell both OE and OEM parts.

I was planning on changing coils and plugs on my '06 CTT at 40,000 miles { way over 4 years }
Today at 39,200 miles engine light came on and the Pig started running very rough stuttering almost seemed to want to stall. Stopped by my indy and he check for a code found #8 had a misfire. Ordered the parts from Sunset coils and plugs . I don't like driving it like this, is it ok to drive short distances or not at all ?
