Default Manhattan Motor Cars Service

Brought my 2005 CS into MMC on Wednesday morning to get a front license plate put on and to do some warranty. By friday afternoon they were still unable to obtain the correct part to replace the antenna booster and they told me that I would have to come back another time. Any thoughts on this? Also, they charged me approx $200 for the plate holder, to paint it to match and to screw it on. Is this reasonable? Thanks ...

I think that's poor service. You should've asked for a loaner until they fixed it. and they should install the front plate cover for free.

something does seem very strange here - did you find the front holder in the rear compartment? I have a 2005 titanium and the front holder needed no painting; just an install. and the install should be very very free of charge.

They should have installed that for free.

When I bought the car in CT it just came with the plate and no holder. Alas, my salesman quit the dealership in CT soon after my purchase so I have become an orphan of sorts. I don't believe that MMC has any loaners. I was dealing with the "service manager" the whole time. This is my first porsche and my first experience with service; I am very disappointed. I wanted a little reality check from y'all to see if I was over-reacting.

You have the right to be disappointed. When I brought in my car to do the TSB's, they gave me a boxster for loaner, then the replacement keyfob didnt come in I get to keep the loaner for another day, just because of the keyfob. Another one was when I bought my CS, they had to detail the car so they gave me a fully loaded CS to drive until it was ready the next day. I dont thik we have to demand for a loaner, if they cant finish the work either give you a rental or a loaner. This is where Lexus excels service, at lexus they made me pick on the new car which one I want to test drive, i get to drive an LS400 for free(oscillating fan, voice activated nav, laser guided cruise control, awesome
ok i wont rub it in anymore...

My 03 and 05 came with the front license plate holder attached. Not sure what mine would look like painted. It is "factory" black.

My front bumper was clean. IE no plate holder. Perhaps the state of CT doesnt require a front plate so they get them w/0 the holder? Im not sure. The car is titanium so they painted the black holder titanium and screwed it in. I didnt buy the car from MMC so I guess I'm conisdered a visiting owner and not entitked to a loaner despite their ineptitude.
