Here is a police artist's drawing of the assailant (pretty good if you ask me)

Here is a sketch of the alleged female accomplice, seen leaving the Porsche Parts department shortly before the alleged attack, shown carrying 2 new Cayenne horn (fishbowl) assemblies...

Quite unusual for a (super) moderator to clutter up an otherwise legitimate thread with unrelated attempts at humor. Is there some comedy club clique here that I don't know about?

If they do, I haven't found one. And the Porsche dealer isn't exactly the best place to have one wired in. Trailer stuff is not their strength. That's why I went with the Prodigy RF. Look Ma - no wires !!

Nevertheless, the very same Prodigy worked perfectly with my Touareg factory hitch. I'm hoping the dealer can track the current errors down to the Porsche trailer control unit.

how did you get the Prodigy RF to work???!? I have one that I'm on the verge of returning. I have tried over and over and it won't pair. All my local Tekonsha dealers get glassy-eyed when I tell them there is a wireless brake controller on the market

Get the first two items from a Volkswagon Dealer; Porsche
does not carry the connectors or wires. You can get
the controller from your local trailer store or online from
ETRAILER.COM.

First, remove under tray panel under dash on driver side.
Find 20 torx in center of panel and remove it.

Drop panel down and look for a 4 prong square connector on left side of dash, hanging off of main harness. Might be wrapped with grey foam.

Install the ends of the wires 0009799228
in the 4 slots in the connector, part number 1J0972782.

CONNECTOR IN CAR: WIRE COLOR:

TERMINAL 1: BROWN
TERMINAL 2: RED Check fuse box right
F19, make sure it has a 30 AMP fuse in it.
TERMINAL 3: BLACK/ RED
TERMINAL 4: BLUE

WIRING TO CONTROLLER:

TERMINAL 1: GROUND
TERMINAL 2: B+ POWER ALL THE TIME
TERMINAL 3: STOP LIGHT
TERMINAL 4: TRAILER BRAKE
Thanks a ton. I have found the hidden connector wrapped in gray foam. I seriously flunked wiring and electricity 101, though. I need pre-assembled.

Mine came with a trailer emulator in the box. If yours didn't, it's worth the investment. Apparently it reflects the kind of load the VW trailer module wants to see. And it's not a one time use thing either. You can also use it on any other 7-blade RV receptacle to test the wiring. I carry mine alongside the spare tire.

It doesn't weigh 15 pounds by the way, I doubt it even weighs 15 ounces.

I think that may have been undershot just a bit

About the emulator, at what stage of the pairing process does it come into play? I'm guessing it plugs into the RF's module after the P5 to PA countdown?
I have never been able to get the thumbwheel on the handheld to change the power level.

Yes - just do the search for "Trailer" in the "Cayenne" Forum.

Well the initial pairing has held over two years and on two vehicles. So my recollection is a bit fuzzy. Pretty sure I recorded the procedure over at myturbodiesel.com (Touareg forum). But essentially when stopped cold while following Tekonsha instructions I plugged int the emulator. When that enabled me to overcome the stumbling block, I plugged the controller harness back in. From there the Tekonsha instructions finished the job
