Anyone fitted a solar panel to theor off roader?
I'm looking at the package commonly seen to place a flexible solar panel on the hood, wired up through a MPPT controller to the start battery. Anyone done this?
As always, plenty of questions.
Any issues with the panel from hood heat and no ventilation under?
Did you isolate the panel output from the battery when the car is running?
What wiring solution did you use to avoid any of the potential Porsche electrical issues?
While the ability to top off the start battery while the car is sitting around is prime, I'd also gradually adopt a house battery and use the panel to power that. My house needs are small so the panel should comfortably keep on top of useage.
