Default Adding a rear locking diff

i found a complete kit(diff, wiring and controle module) for a 957 tts that had the rear locking diff. I just bought an 09 S that doesnt have it. is it possible to install it and have it programmed into the car?

You better research differential ratios between turbo and S. If it's like the 955, there are 3 different available depending on base, S, turbo and manual vs auto trans.

Could this be found out with the VIN?

Possibly, but when I bought a front replacement I just looked up the part # for my year and model from an online vendor.
