Default Petrol differences 95 or 98 RON?

Just acquired a 2009 Cayenne GTS. The handbook recommends 98RON fuel and states that if 95 is detected then the engine electronics will detect it and adjust accordingly.

Question is; has anyone here noticed a difference in either performance or fuel economy between the two?

I'm sure this is probably a regular question so apologies if it's been asked and answered multiple times!

There will no doubt be a difference but it will be a minor decrease in power and fuel economy as the timing is reduced. Probably not even noticeable. I wouldn't do it if you are an aggressive drive or if you take it to a Drivers Ed event as the safety features of the ECU can only do so much.

I've not noticed any discernible differences between fuel grades or economy. Just stick with "E10".

agree will not notice the difference unless you are to the level of street racing your car. I actually use regular and have never had a problem
