Car Wash

the bigger/wider the tire, the tougher it is for the car to stay in the track. i am trying to see if anyone has experience with taking their cayenne through an automatic car wash.

I have 275/45 19s on my Cayenne S and have not had any problems going through the car wash. Most of the guide rails should not be a problem for the Cayenne wheels -- the profile isn't that low but not sure if you have 20s. Be sure to choose a good car wash that doesn't cause any abrasion. I found a car wash in San Jose (Northern California) that is touchless (2 people will wash your car by hand followed by a touchless wash). There are also no guide rails! $5.00 with a 10 gallon purchase.

Have taken my 18's with snows mounted as well as my 19's with Rosso's mounted, no problem.

I could be the odd one out. But after trying all different car washes for over 2 months, I came to realize that ALL ARE BADDDDDDDDDD.
The mirror got scratched, the wider area of the trunk (or as I call it, the Jay Lo hips) has tons of swirls. The door has some scratches. Man every time I go to one of these car washes I feel my heart is pounding too fast.
And finally, after I installed the 20" rims, I was stupid enough to take the car to a car wash again, and the A** who work there, assured me that the rims size is no problem at all.
The result = a nice scratch on edge of the rim luckily it is not noticeable unless you look too close.
My advice is: wash your car by yourself, or go to some hand car washes, but never inside these evil machines.

I can drop by my dealership every Saturday and they will hand wash it for free....
You can bet I am taking advantage of that during the "Cicada Season"...

As I have posted in other threads, even the touchless Car Washes are not very good, as the strong detergents they use will take off all your wax. Just wash it once a month by hand...it will stay looking better far longer.

The tires for the 18s are high enough to clear the tracks.
Other than that, I'm not an expert on the subject....
