Default silver hood crest

Have seen in a previous post that the front bumper needed to be removed to change out to silver hood crest.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

I didn't remove my front bumper to install the silver hood crest. I have some photos of my silver hood crest on my car

My dealer installed mine, and they did remove the front bumper, but when I installed my stainless steel plate I noticed that the whole bumper did not needed to be removed to do so..

What's the best way to install it? Through the top or bottom of the bumper?

I believe you can get to it from the top if you pull some of the paneling back

hmm good question..... if you remove the headlights you will see where the bumper is removed from.. When I installed the Steel Plate I noticed that the whole bumper didn't have to come off. The bumper is attached on both sides by sliding in and out of a track or latch type of system. We also had to remove some screws in the paneling where the side markers are attached.

I said screw it and had the dealer put it on for me. Brian (Service Advisor) at Carlsen is Awesome!

The guys at Akkurat are awesome also. They helped me put on my Clear side markers! Now I'm going to turn them in to turn signals, like I did on my 996!

I'll post pictures later, weatehr sucks today.

Steve,
In your tool kit is a long skinny metal tube thingy.. Check the manual it gives a full description on headlight removal...

These are the only pics I have.. nothing really specific on what needs to come off though..but you can see what it looks like underneath

In this pic you can see where it slides into the side.. there is a heavy duty plastic latch that releases the bumper....

looking at this pic. if you could get to those 4 hex screws facing forward you might be able to get that scooped panel off that would access the area where the crest comes off. But I think taking the bumper off is the easiest.. There is a hose and a harness attached on the passanger side, one is for the headlight washers and the other is for Parking Distance Control
