Rear Glass Release

Rear Glass Release
I just finished replacing the rear liftgate and glass gas struts on my 2006 Cayenne S and now have found that the rear glass will not open. Neither the microswitch behind the wiper nor the key fob is triggering the release for the glass hatch. The tailgate opens and locks just fine, so the problem is limited to just the glass hatch. I checked the fuses and there does not seem to be a distinct fuse just for the glass latching mechanism. I have not found anything terribly helpful in searching this site or the web.
I am wondering if there any other switches or sensors that prevent the glass from releasing when the tailgate is open that I may have disturbed in this latest repair? One step forward and one back.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts,

Solved! Not much out there on this but my rear hatch external microswitch must have gone bad in the closed position. so stuck as if pressed in. I disconnected the switch behind the glass and it now opens with the fob.
Looks like the switch replacement is pretty simple.

How do you pop just the rear glass with the key fob? Mine has a button for the complete rear hatch door, but not one for just the window portion?

On my 2004S, which can only afford 2 buttons on the remote, pressing and holding the hatch release button for a few seconds will cause the hatch glass to release.

Ah, that's the difference. The 955 doesn't have a power tailgate. On the 957 doing that on the fob causes the complete hatch gate to power lift open. We can only open the glass using the button under the glass handle.

I really like Porsche and the thorough and thoughtful engineering. But when things go awry it can be challenging. This particular problem was likely a coincidence of the microswitch failing at or around the same time as my replacing the struts and adding a rear camera. So lots of moving parts and potential points of failure at once.
This and the other forums are of great value to me as I really prefer to do my own wrenching. I must say that it was a lot easier to fix things on my high-school vehicle, a 1959 Chevy panel truck...

My ‘06 developed a bug that won’t let me manually open the rear hatch. It just stays locked even with the car unlocked and repeatably hitting the unlock button on the fob. But I can open by hitting the hatch release on the fob and both the glass and the hatch opens. Then I close the glass and open the hatch. Weird 🧐
