Default Fuel Filler Door Won't Open + Emergency Pull Not Working

All the other threads I've read mentioned using the rubber black emergency pull as stated in the manual, but even pulling hard on the emergency release does not do anything.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does this point to a certain part failing?

Total noob to cars and my Cayenne so thanks for helping. It's a 2009 GTS.

Did you try pushing the door inwards a slight bit?

I'm guessing the little locking slide pin that locks the gas door shut when the doors are locked has gotten stuck. Relock the doors and then hit the unlock button a few times to see if you can get it to slide backwards and release the door.

Why the other cable isn't working is odd.

Does pulling the button in the door make the release "chirp"?

If so, the latch release is likely working and something else is stuck. You might have someone else pull the button while you push and pull a bit on the door.
