Cayenne Alternatives
I’m considering getting rid of my 2006 Turbo S.
But I need to replace it with another family car.
I like most things about it, except for the fact it’s been in and out of the garage most of the time I’ve owned it.
Are there any similarly priced cars that can compare favourably?

If you are looking for a performance SUV ... Not much to choose from .... Range Rovers suck .... Audi is pretty close to what you already have. I had 2 Cayenne's and I still have one but when my wife's needed replacement and we were in the same position we went to the extreme opposite and bought a Tesla Model X and we/she have been quite happy with it and its still a hoot when you floor it !!
Otherwise if you want something less expensive even though I personally hate the brand my neighbor has the fully electric Jaguar SUV and he said it has been great so far or just buy a Lexus RX and you will never see a shop again and be done with it.

Are you towing? Need Low range? More space or less space?
Similarly priced used cars with ~500HP... Slim to none.
IDK what to say on that one. It is an older high end Euro car... Open wallet or turn your own wrenches. If you wanted a reliable easy to own SUV look at a Tahoe/Escalade.

Grand Cherokee SRT...someone on here got one after getting rid of a CTTS. I think he had no complaints at a fraction of the price. Or Trackhawk.
Only 707hp..lol.. https://www.caranddriver.com/jeep/gr...okee-trackhawk
Despite costing nearly $19K more than the 475-hp SRT Grand Cherokee, the Trackhawk earns its worth by being not only one of the quickest SUVs on sale, but one that can humble far more expensive rivals in a straight line, including the $131,450 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. While most of its options are mere tinsel, opting for the Jeep's Pirelli P Zero summer tires and the towing package fully unlock all of the Trackhawk's capabilities.

the only other that could compare is a mercedes. If you like sport utility, another newer cayenne is the ticket. Since Porsche has made so so many of them, there are some really good deals out there. Do NOT buy a panamera, they are outrageous to service and repair. BMWs are cheaply built, Volkswagens and the Japanese cars are a step down

Lets value that at 15000
So 2 PPVs, while one is down you have the other

I'm replacing mine with a red Tesla Model Y Performance. I made the mistake of test driving a Tesla and have been hooked ever since.

As others have said there really isn't much on the market that compares, unless you are willing to go crazy modifying something, but then you are back to reliability and cost concerns.
If they get the handling right (which it sure looks like they will) the Rivian R1S may be about the only other SUV that surpasses a 955 turbo s in both offroad and road performance. It will tow more and have a killer range. The price is going to be considerably higher, but if you factor in the hemorrhage of time/money/parts/gas/oil/tires/brakes that are thrown into an old CTT that is a daily driver it might be worth it. The tesla X is nice, but feels cheesy to me, does not handle worth a crap, does not do offroad, and looks like a pontiac Aztec and tesla S had a bastard child together in Korea.

Go up one generation to a low mileage 957 Turbo. Yiu already know the issues, get a slightly better looking version that has a number of the 955 issue resolved.
The Cherokee SRT is really the only thing close in size and performance but is not going to weather 150k miles as well as your Cayenne did.
