Default FWD brake pad wear sensors

The OEM number for my front brake pad sensors is 95561236561, but I cannot see any difference with 95561236560

Are these the same products or how do they differ? Everything looks the same and the catalogue says both fit.

With Porsche part numbering, the original part ends in a 0 and updates to that part increase the last number by 1 sequentially, so that part number that ends in 1 is the newer part number for the same, but updated part. Parts get updated for many reasons, but the 0 part fit at one time so in most cases, there shouldn't be any reason it wouldn't also work.

Do the new ones also start annoying us 5-10k miles before the brakes really need replacing or is that updated, too? Got a new set of rotors, pads and sensors on the way right now, matter of fact.

I guess depends on your definition of "brakes really need replacing". Brake pad acts as a heat insulator, and the thinner the material layer on the pad, the more heat will get transferred into the caliper and into the brake fluid. If wear down the pads all the way down to backing plates, you run the risk of boiling the fluid during spirited driving.
If that doesn't sound like a concern to you, and you diligently check your pad thickness, you can bypass the warning system altogether by shorting the two wires at the connector. Then you can wear the pads down as far as you feel comfortable without any warning.
