Turbo S front rotor replacement - UK
#2
You're not getting away easy on this one, there are no cheapish 380x38 mm rotors anywhere. I bought drilled rotors from ultimot.de in Germany, they're 1464 Euros at the moment which is cheaper than OEM but still painful compared to other Cayennes. I posted pictures of them in another thread on this topic, haven't mounted them yet though.

Search is your friend, this question has been asked over and over on this forum, you have several possibilities. One of them being completely replacing the brakes with a different set with waaay lower prices for discs / pads.
There are also a couple of aftermarket disc manufacturers, one of them is i.e. o-brake.com

I'd personally check out FCPEuro for the rotors. Their price on the Porsche rotors is pretty reasonable but beyond that they offer the life time replacement guarantee. So the first replacement will cost you about $1500 + shipping. Second time they need replacement (hopefully you keep the car that long) will only cost you shipping. On regular rotors it's probably not worth it since shipping rotors is pretty expensive and they're so cheap but for the Cayenne's rotors, it could save a lot of money.

I've started buying my rotors from PartsGeek and then I install them myself. But sometimes I get lazy and just drive the car to an indy shop and have them install the rotors I bought, but at least I know exactly what components are being used and save some money.

The rotors are £595 each on www.Design911.co.uk - so that's already 1/2 the price of Porsche West London.
Pads and fitting are going to be a lot less than than the £1100 that's left.
