I need to fit new arms this weekend as I'm going on a roadtrip next week so I am going to have to fit these!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH They're so DAMN heavy!!! My GTS which is my wifes daily, is no race car but still, to know I've saved some weight, it would have been nice and I'm sure it will have made some difference, even if it is only driven around London! Doh
This sucks! Funny tho, are the forged steel arms now worthless? LOL

That is odd. Rock has made several changes to listings in that page since I started this thread. Looks like they finally got it all squared away. Still a nice price. If your upper arm ball joints are good (likely are) I would do those in poly at least. You can always transfer the poly to a new arm if needed.

For the guys that want to do poly:

You need a press! There are several ways to go about removing the rubber bushings but it's like An air hammer, chisel, heat, hacksaw.....those are all enemies of that aluminum lower arm. Please trust me. It's not worth your aggravation. and get youself to a press and in ten minutes you will be all

I plan to do the uppers at the same time and I would do poly on them all if I do it. I have 125k miles and doubt any of the arms have been changed, more concerned about the ball joints. If I could find just the ball joints I would do those and the poly and be done with it. Will agree on needing a press, it just makes changing them so much easier.

Indeed. When I ordered the $17 unit, the $72 one wasn't available. Now it is. I would have ordered both to save on shipping, but what the heck, it's still pretty darn cheap! Thanks for the tips on the press- I was wondering about the best course of action to install them.

Cheers,
Tom

Rockauto jumped the price up to 67$ for lower left with "2" remaining and the lower right is still at 72$. You might be the last one that got the 17$ arm.

Haha, I thought about buying all of them and ebay'ing them for a profit. Lucky for a few of you, I don't have time.

Don't forget it also fits the Touareg and q7. I don't mind messing with the Touareg owners because they all think it's a reskinned Cayenne!

Wow, so cool. Definitely like the idea of an upgrade to aluminum. I would rather go with MOOG or perhaps Centric brand for just my piece of mind.

Are there any more aluminum suspension components that could be upgraded for 955 / 957 platform?
