I think so. I am going to reach out to a few techs I know, maybe a few local shops/dealer to see what they think and if anybody has any laying around. I need to make a decision soon because when I order the Powerflex bushings I need to order one bushing size or the other. I just hate to order new to check geometry/fitment.

LOL you don't owe anybody an edit reason! Just edit and put NUNYA in the box!
There is not a significant cost difference in non-Porsche branded parts. I have not been able to find more than a couple of used listings on Ebay across the three platforms years 2010-2017. Maybe they aren't going bad as quickly due to the enhanced rear bushing? That bushing is usually what waste the whole control arm. I looked into a replacement ball joint but due to the design a universal/bolt-in really wont work like with most cars.

I am getting up there on miles on my GTS and this is going to be something I look into doing- and like you, if there is a better design out there, I am for it. I was mostly seeing if the cost difference between steel and aluminum was.

One comment - I know suspension component replacement at certain mileages on the 955/957 is fairly common, including the recommendation on the 955 to use turbo arms which have stronger bushings. Since I mostly keep an eye on the 958 forum (owning one..) I might note that I can't actually recall anyone having to replace any of the front suspension components due to failed bushings - and there are 958's now with over 150,000 miles on them. Mine as of today has 93,700 miles on it and the front end still is quiet and feels solid. No funny wobble or tire-wear. It was last aligned at around 60,000 miles when the engine/trans/subframe was dropped out by the dealer to fix something they broke. So supposition that perhaps the larger bushing on the aluminum arm helps longevity might have something to it.

I came across this video on for the Audi q7. Hmm, it's the Cayenne sub-frame, brakes, strut.....EVERYTHING! It is a Cayenne chassis! Or is it the other way around?
Either way it has the aluminum lowers. Look how the tech just picks it up with one hand. Do that with the steel version and hold it!
I have ordered a set of 2011 Touareg lowers in aluminum so we will see. Stay tuned because if it's all good I am going to tell you where to get the drivers side new aftermarket closeout for $18 and the pass. for $65.

It makes sense. They're all on the VW PL71 platform (2002-2010 Touareg, 2002-2010 Cayenne, 2005-2015 Q7). It seems like the PL72 platform is just a refinement and maybe someday we'll discover how similar the PL73 platform is (Cayenne, Bentayga, Urus, Touareg, Q7, Q8).
