Default Glovebox won't open...

For some reason my glove box won't open. Very annoying. Button goes it a bit but nothing happens. Tried tugging on it etc but no joy.

I have a usb cable wired in behind there and it comes out at the side to connect into my phone. Has been fine as it shuts but there is room for the cable. I've been opening and closing it fine for months. Not sure if this is the reason but its the only thing I can think of.

Can anyone suggest in what way I should try to pry open or what to do?

Thanks.

It didn't get locked by accident, did it?

Is this the part that has to be replaced when the glove box will not open (while unlocked)? The procedure for fixing the "won't open" problem on Pelican looks great but the part number isn't confirmed in that procedure (2008 "S"). The part below looks very similar to one photo in the Pelican procedure, but they don't show the whole part in their photos of the procedure. Just want to be sure I get the right item

Argh, cant paste image from Pelican Parts, using Upload now, hopefully this works

A few hours ago it was literally 3 pages of garbled text- almost like the forum software displayed the text output of a picture

When I made the post originally, the image of the part appeared fine in the message while I was editing it. But coming back later, the image wasn't there and it was a novel's worth of random ASCII. I deleted the crap, and put the image back into the message and it worked properly the second time.

That's the 2nd time I've seen/heard of this in as many days. If it occurs again it's time to start reporting it to Internet Brands. They use a service that caches pictures off-site so when they're called to display the service provides the code required instead of the forum. It's supposed to reduce bandwidth and improve picture load time. It might reduce bandwidth - but the other stuff seems questionable..

Revisting this- my 2009 CTTS glove box has this problem. I can't seem to engage the latch with the screwdriver trick. I put it in at 45 degree angle and nothing.

It takes a lot of poking around to get it. I have done it twice now since my wife closed it right after I got it open the first time. Each time it has taken me at least 30 min of poking and prodding with a very thin screwdriver. I just replaced my latch about a month ago.

Revisiting this after surviving the great storms of last night through OKC area.

Is this what I have to trigger? The plastic is broken on the "surround" of those metal pins (which I thought was the release) but I didn't even try that nub behind it. Or do I need to get a pick and hit the triangle latch piece that I could not seem to get?
