Default Recommended Cayenne tires?

Hi guys,

I have a 2010 GTS, and winter is soon coming to an end here where I live (hopefully!). That means it will soon be time to remove my Pirelli Scorpion snow tires (excellent tires IMHO) in favour of my summer rubber. The one hiccup is my current summers are exhausted. They are 21" Michelin Latitudes, and they have been great, but before I run out and simply get the same again, I wanted to check with the pros here. I know there is always personal preference involved, but any opinions on the best new rubber? I see there are products available from Continental, Pirelli and Yokohama. Maybe there are others? Anyone have any experiences or guidance they want to offer before I go shopping. I will just add that here in Canada, the Michelins are obscenely expensive. I know you get what you pay for and should not trivialize something as important as tires on a vehicle like this, but again, I am just asking …

Thanks,
Steve.

Couple guys on here have liked the Atturo AZ series tires- much cheaper than the big boy companies.

I'll keep voting for the Yokohama Parada Spec X. Poor man's Conti DWS. Not sure if it come in 21" sizes, but the 20" versions are great. I'm about to get another set.

AZ 850's all the way. I have tried just about every 21" tire. While there are a few better than the Atturo's, they have a very soft compound and are about 3-4 times the price. The Atturo is a quality tire in the correct load rating. They balanced out extremly well and hook like crazy for the TW rating that they are.

I've had good luck with the Pirelli P Zeros. They grip well and are a quiet tire with very little vibration. Mine wear evenly across the tread; however, the backs are about 50% at 13000 miles and I don't like to keep tires past 50%. I might try the Atturos next on J's recommendation. Looks like I might be able to save about 300 dollars on a set over the Pirellis.

There is a thread for the Nokain Z-Line 21s on here as well.

I have had good experiences with Nokian's other tires. No real opinion here, just pointing out another solid option.

Since OP mentioned they're in Canada... My experience has been that after the Canadian mark up, a lot of the cheaper options are only $100-200 cheaper for a full set compared to buying the name brand Michelin, Continental or Pirelli's on sale at Canadian Tire. They are also easily available compared to waiting weeks if you're anywhere but the largest hubs (Toronto or Vancouver pretty much).

I went with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06's. Great tread life compared to other tires in the category, decent fall/spring performance and I actually got them cheaper than any other option thanks to a sale. They aren't nearly as responsive or as smooth as the Michelin's but considering the price difference (more than 1/2 if you factor in tread life).

I was one of the early Atturo AZ850 adopters primarily because they were the only tire I could find in the 315/30-22 size I wanted to run on my 22"x12" wheels, and couldn't be happier with them. Great dry grip, super stable in the rain and a real bargain.

I like them so much, I'm going to put them on my truck next, but they don't make the 850 in my size, so I'm going to try the 800s.

This is so true. Supposedly Marv in Saskatoon sells AZ850's but that is about it out west. DWS06's are 20% off at CT right now ($350 each), but I am tempted to try the Goodyear Asymmetric 3's, $175 each (after rebate) at Fountain Tire right now, in 285/35R22. Has anyone tried these on a CTT? Summer only, and I swap on the KO2's for off-roading. Reviews seem OK, and they are 106W. Porsche certified them for the Panamera, so you'd figure they can't be that bad. Any experiences?

I am an HPDE person, so take my advice with a few grains of salt. Not with the Cayenne, other cars. With that caveat, I put a set of Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires on my Cayenne, and omg are they fun!

Anyone tried Azzuro 610 all seasons? 60K warranty should guarantee reduced price on the next set.

Since you are in Canada the best way to order is https://www.quattrotires.com/
I used them for my Atturo AZ 850s last summer. Came to $600 all in for my 285/35/22's!
Loving the AZ 850s as well, amazing tire!

I had never checked quattro tires out, and yeah, $600 a set plus shipping! (which seems to be about $20 per tire). They are out of stock right now but will get in touch with them and see when more will be in. 1010 wants $255 each and I couldn't find them on blackcircles, but we still have snow here so can wait a bit. I have only ordered motorcycle tires online before - do you use quatto's local installers, or just get them and take them to your own tire place?

Edit - called Quattro; they sold out their entire stock in 2 weeks; guess it is a popular tire!
