Question Cayenne - Windshield Washer Pump Died and Replace - 2008 GTS

Anyone have a link or DIY on replacing the windshield washer pump? ... looks like mine croaked and I checked all the fused on the side of the door, nothing looks blown

1. the wipers work .. but I don't hear the "whirring" sound of the washer pump
2. I researched the the pump sits behind the wheel well liner on the passenger side front wheel ... could I access this area without having to remove the front wheel?
3. does this main washer pump control both the front and back windshield nozzles?

Thanks!

I replaced mine with a cheap VW knock off pump off Amazon.

2. You can peel the liner aside its literally right there. Beware that if you don't drain your fluid, its all going to come out once you disconnect the old pump.

Yep. Only the headlight washers would work as they are on a different pump.

Thanks ... same conclusion I came to .. after researching ... headlight washer on different pump.

So the cheaper VW Toureg pump can also work? ... do you remember the number?

For the price of a new retail pump for VW or Porsche, I could probably buy 5-10 of these. And since I rarely if ever use them, the opportunity cost is just so low considering how easy it is to replace.

For the 2 mins it takes to remove the wheel, it’s worth it. Porsche part is a Vw part in a Porsche box.

Buy a new seal that fits on the pump too.. Once you disturb the one that's they're by removing the old pump, it's likely you'll have a small leak. Putting in a new seal with the new pump is the only thing that stopped mine from leaking.
