Default Porsche PCM Navigation Disc DVD OEM

Hello,

I am a new 955 owner and my vehicle did not come with a navigation disk. I am driving a 2006 Cayenne S with the Bose system. Is it as simple as buying a navigation dvd/cd off ebay and installing the navigation maps? I understand they will be outdated, but something is better than nothing.

Any comments or help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Darn. I believe I gave away the old nav disk from my '06 CS.. but you probably are correct, the disk should be plug and play - depending on the GPS firmware version running on your PCM. Somewhere there are more details on this. Porsche did sell a kit for updating the PCM firmware with a new navigation disk - wasn't cheap - around $300, and out of date at the time they were selling it. I'll look in the garage and see if I still have an old nav disk - if so - I'll PM you and get an address to send it to.

Welcome to the forums!

Wow. Thanks for the advice and it would be great if you had an old copy hidden in the garage!

I'm finding stuff like this on ebay. I assume this is my alternate option:

Thanks again,
Charlie

I went and looked and unfortunately it wasn't found. I think I gave it to someone already. The disk you found on eBay should work. I'd make a $10 offer since I can tell you from experience 10+ year old disks really have very little value.

If you can find one very cheap on ebay, it would fill the screen for you but be aware the PCM nav system is ancient, has a clunky screen image, no touch screen, very cumbersome to use; and very primitive compared to nav apps on your phone.

ClimaRepair.com sells the 2015 NAV maps disc for N. America. $99/shipped.... while they last.
