Default Pink & Blue Zeon Headlights?

Just noticed that rather than the characteristic blue, one has a decidedly pinking cast. No codes. Is this a sign of aging and decline, the car trying to get in touch with its feminine side or a personality disorder? They both work fine, but wassup with the pink?

Yes, it is a sign of age. Happened to my VW GTI with xenon bulbs. It eventually went out. Nothing to worry about, just change the bulb. ( I would change both so that they match)

Any preferences for replacements? Bosch, Osram, Sylvania, (hopefully not genuine Porsche) On Pelican Bosch gets high ratings

So I tried going the cheap route and bought the Chinese knock offs, and one of my ballasts blew several days later. Can't be sure it is related but maybe all the stories are true. Considering what a PITA it is to match up or code a replacement ballast, I would just get two new Osrams. Great blubs and no worries.

Ok, this begs the question from a Xeon newbie; How do you know when it’s a bad bulb versus a bad ballast? Are there different messages on the instrument cluster to tell what’s what? (Looked at the other threads and non food there to help). Does pink necessarily always mean bad bulb?

Bad ballast = no light
Bad bulb = discoloration, dim or dead

I’d recommend going with the Phillips Extreme vision 2.0...or N2, from The Retrofit source. Guaranteed authentic, no knockoff concerns going Amazon, or eBay route. The Bi-xenon is a D1S bulb. I installed the Phillips noted above on my last DD, significant improvement in light...they say 150%, not cheap, around $200 I believe.

I’ll be getting those, and an LED for the aux highbeam soon, about the time I attempt to clean, and reseal one light.

thanks for the tip. Ordered a pair from Power Bulbs since I could not locate the Philips Xtreme Vision Gen2 D1S on Retrofit, or they hide them really well. Total paid was $148 including shipping and guaranteed authentic.
