Open vacuum port??
I did a plug and coil replacement this past weekend due to some faults codes and rough running.
While changing I noticed a vacuum T with one end opened located by the firewall on the passenger side. See picture. Anyone have any ideas?

John, it might help if you told us the year and model of your Cayenne - we don't all own the same one you do. And it looks as if some creative repairs have happened in that area - the electrical tape on the one hose that appears to be going to a broken connector is probably a clue. Might there have been a connector on the part of that fitting that now appears missing - that connected to the line you're asking about?

Sorry about that. I posted off of my phone and my signature didn't show. That tape was put on by me since I saw a small crack on the tube, so not related.

John,
Happened to me a few years back. The factory vacuum tee had a sliver of plastic flash (where the molding took place) and acted like a knife which split the hose. These links may help:

Andy,
Thanks!
Looking at your picture and mine, it looks like the hose that came off of my T runs upward left vs the hose off of your is the downward left hose.
I have been looking for where the hose went! Guess I'll take off all of the engine covers to see where it landed.
FYI-The second link for the T broken in the center happen to me a few years ago. I was able to JB weld it since I couldn't find the part. Now that I know it I'll have to order an assembly.
It is disheartening the lack of quality and design with theses hard and soft vacuum hose assemblies. You just need to look at them the wrong way and they break.
Thanks!

So I'm searching all over the back of the engine bay looking for the hose that broke off. Can't find it!
One end is the long hard hose that runs to the middle of the engine area to another T. and the other is a short hose connected to the rear of the cyl. head.
Can anyone tell me where the missing hose runs to? is it a hard or soft hose?
Thanks in advance for any help.
