Wheel size options for 955 03-06 Cayenne Base?
I have an 06 Base V6 and I need to get new tires, and been looking around for options on bigger rims. Trying to search on it but i find more info about the S and Turbo than the V6.
Does anyone know which rim size/width and tires fit on the V6 03-06 without any rubbing or modification?
Currently looking at some 19x8.5 from a 2017 model with 265/50R tires. I'm running stock tires and wheels now.
Thanks

Porsche publishes a spec on this, which is probably a safe bet. I recently posted the PDF portion of that for 2003-2006 in the following post:

They have wheel specs, tire specs, and tire brands, for each car type. If you stick to that you'll be fine. If you go beyond that, you might be OK too.
For example, those are just for Porsche wheels. My 2004 S has 22" wheels on it, while that spec does not go past 20", and my wheels work fine, although I need to guess a little to figure out what tire pressure to run. And that thread is an interesting discussion of that topic - that the tire pressures Porsche specifies are probably influenced by conservative liability protection, vs. performance, tire longevity, etc. Quite a range of pressures people are running there.

My understanding is that you can run any Cayenne wheel on your base.
Same bolt pattern, same wheel well.
On a base, you can fit down to 17", because you have smaller brakes. But nothing keeps you from going bigger (unless you don't like the look of 'open spoke' wheels and smaller brakes).

Thanks Oldskewel, I found that sheet earlier but I didn't realize that was from Porsche, and seems it doesn't include every type of wheel does it? I see it lists 19" 265/45, so 265/50 would be too tall?
Wisconsin Joe, that was my thinking too, the S, GTS and Turbo have larger brakes so they limit the smaller wheels.
But what is the tallest they can be, is that 45? Has anyone ran any larger, say 50 on the 955 and 957?
Thanks.

I have 265x50x19 on my '06 S. The taller 50's fill up the wheel well a little better in my opinion. You can find some wheels/tires on the forums, or CL and it's a good chance to update the look to a more modern wheel.

Correct, that is only for the Porsche-brand wheels. And I think it may be for only the Porsche-brand wheels that were factory options when the cars were originally sold. So you can take that list as confirming that those sizes will fit. But don't take it to mean that other sizes not on the list won't fit.
