20” Wheels, Suggested Specs
I’m looking to replace my incorrect 22” replica wheels on my 2009 GTS. I’m leaning toward the following. 20 x 9.5 with 40 for the offset? Probably will use TBD All Season 275/45 tires. Make sense on the wheels for this vehicle? I’m no wheel/tire expert, so I am seeking advise about the best fit.
Thanks

Whatever you do, whichever wheels you choose, make sure they are strong enough.
The Cayenne is a heavy car. Typical 'car' wheels aren't built strong enough to take the weight. Some of the Chinese knock off wheels are of questionable quality.
There are a few threads on here that have pics of broken wheels.
I took a quick look back through the list, but didn't see the most recent one.
I want to say you need a wheel rated above 1600 lbs, 800kg or 9000 N. But that's going off memory, and I certainly could be wrong.

Joe; Exactly my rationale for changing! Since they are replica style, I didn't realize that this truck had faux wheels until a few days after buying it.
95; I want a little greater profile to make the ride more comfortable. I don't really want 35's. I think the Techno wheel looks good! Where did you source them?
thanks

If you're interested in the official Porsche spec, here it is for your 2009 GTS, with 20 inch wheels, for summer tires:
Wheel size 20-inch
9J x 20H2
275/40 R 20
106 Y tire load and speed index
offset - front:60, rear:55 or 60
Attached is the actual PDF from Porsche. Of course people push beyond these standard approved Porsche wheels, so don't necessarily consider these limiting.

I have a spare set of 20 inch factory sport technos I would be willing to let go of, but shipping might kill the deal. I think 275/45R20 gives best ride, prices, and choices of tires on the Cayenne.

My 2009 GTS came with stock 21" wheels. The tires were down to 30% and winter is coming, so I picked up a set of 20" Sport Techno's(non staggered) locally with like new 275/40 tires. It rides much better now and I am ready for winter!

Be careful of 20 sport techno replicas - my 05S has them - after the crack I had a good look and saw they were rated 750kg. Second hand oem and a refurbish is my choice now.

I'd suggest a 20x10 et50 with the GTS flares.
We got et55 without flares and it looks "correct" but better than stock. We also put 275/45R20 tires on. They are plenty comfy but I'll probably use lowering links because I can tell a difference in ride height.

May be a little late to the dance on this topic.
About to get my new (to me) 9x20 and 10x20 Sport Technos mounted tomorrow with 275/40-20 tires.
Anyone have pics of their staggered setup for a quick visual comparison?
