Default Added 1 Qt. of motor oil, now its a little over the MAX mark?

Well on my cayenne TT @ 1k miles i noticed it was near the minimum mark so i added 1 Qt. of mobil 1 0W-40 and now its alittle bit past the max mark on the oil measuring stick. Is this really bad? What can/should i do?

Suck out some oil with a topsider.

Too much oil can damage the engine.

If it's only a little over don't worry, shouldn't do any damage

Wow that is barely over, if at all. You could push the dipstick down more and get that kind of reading. I wouldn't worry either. But if you are well over, definitely get some oil out.

TIS330ci,

Great timing! Just tonight, my engine oil light came on. I checked the dip, and found it exactly on minimum. I added 1 qt., and that brought me up to 3/4 full.

Going forward, and remembering your experience, I think I will wait until the light comes on to add oil.

Thanks,

Craig

2 things to mention: to get accurate reading am i supposed to push the stick all the way down to the point where i "force" it in a little ways or only push it right to the point where i would have to start "forcing" it in?

Also it seems when i turn the car (no engine running) along with the seatbelt sign a square looking yellow light comes on (think it deals with engine), however when i turn the engine on it goes away, is that norma?

TIS330ci,

Push the dip all the way in, so the little yellow side snaps grab.

The yellow light you are referring to, I believe, is the 'check oil' light. It does go out, but a smaller one comes on below the small computer info screen (outside temp, trip mileage, odometer etc.) betw/ tach and speedo.
